Controls
Some knobs have an alternate function if used in combination - that is, turning while holding down- with the REC or PLAY button.
BPM : This control sets the tempo of the beats. It is inactive when the pedal is synchronized to other devices with the MIDI/Sync connection.
LEVEL : Volume of the beats.
MOD : Modification of the sounds. Determines the intensity with which the sound selected in SAMPLE will sound or be recorded. In combination with the REC button, it controls the pitch of the sound. In combination with the PLAY button, it controls the aliasing effect – digital degradation due to reduction of the sampling frequency.
BEAT/BANK : Selects beat 1, 2, 3, or 4. The selected beat can be modified, sounds can be added or removed, or simply played. In combination with the REC button, selects the beat bank, A, B, C, or D.
SAMPLE : Selects the sound sample to record and/or trigger. In combination with the REC button, modifies the time signature of the selected beat (Default: 4/4)
PLAY : Play or stop the selected beat.
TAP : Triggers the selected sound. If held down, the sound will be repeated in quarter notes. If REC mode is active, the taps will be recorded in the current beat. In combination with the REC button, the selected sound is erased from the beat.
In LIVE mode, it allows movement to the next/previous beat.
TAP TEMPO: In combination with the PLAY button, tap tempo is made by tapping 3 quarter notes on the TAP button.
REC : Enables recording of sounds on the selected beat. The RED LED indicates when REC mode is active. In combination with the PLAY button, saves the current beats and their modifications to permanent memory.
CONNECTIONS
OUTPUT : Pedal output, can be connected to a guitar/bass amplifier or directly to a console line.
INPUT : Input for guitar or other instrument. Whatever is connected here will go directly to the output mixed with the sound of the beats.
MIDI/SYNC : This TRS connector serves as a MIDI input or clock input for sync. The BEAT automatically detects a connection and disables the internal tempo. See the manual for how to configure the pedal according to the connection type (Default: MIDI).

Technology
At the heart of the BEAT lies an 8-bit digital sampling engine running at 31.250 Hz, designed to deliver a distinctive and musical character. The sounds are not generic presets—they’re carefully selected and processed from real instruments, striking a balance between punch, clarity, and lo-fi texture. The sample set includes 8 essential percussion voices: Snare, Bass Drum, Rimshot, Hi-hat, Clap, Cowbell, Tom, and Conga.
Beat programming happens entirely on the pedal—no computer needed. Each hit is recorded in real time using the TAP button, and can be modified instantly through the onboard controls. The recording workflow is intuitive, allowing you to shape patterns and add expression using two creative effects:
Pitch Down, for deeper, darker-sounding hits.
Aliasing, which digitally reduces the sample resolution, adding retro or glitchy textures.
Internal memory stores up to 16 patterns of 2 bars, organized into 4 banks. While 4/4 is the default, you can also create beats in alternate time signatures, configurable directly from the pedal.
Synchronization is one of BEAT’s strongest assets. Through its multifunction TRS input, the pedal automatically detects whether it’s receiving MIDI (Type A or B) or analog clock sync, deactivating the internal tempo to follow an external pulse. Manual Tap Tempo is also available for quick BPM adjustment—perfect for setups without a master clock.
For live performance, LIVE mode lets you switch patterns on the fly using the TAP button, while the optional JOYSTICK converts the pedal in a individual sound trigger, ideal for quick percussion overdubs.
The instrument input blends your guitar or bass signal directly with the beats, so the BEAT acts as a self-contained rhythm section—no need for separate routing to amps or mixers.
Compact and rugged, the BEAT brings the full workflow of a modern drum machine into a pedalboard-friendly format. Digital precision, tactile control, and characterful sound—all in one stompbox.

Review by Guitar Pedal X (Beat-1)
"...This is actually a real gamechanger in this area - and for the first one out of the gate as far as I’m aware - this is already really cool. I see a lot of potential here, along with further editions of this pedal with more control and variations - but at a starting position this pedal is pretty perfectly formed...." Read more...
